(Received April 1, at 5.5 p.m.) The Ulster Parliament, after a heated debate, accepted Sir James Craig’s proposal to pay members £2OO annually as expenses. Many members strongly opposed the proposal, describing it as humiliating and disgusting. Sir James Uraig replied that Parliament should be open to the poor as well as the rich. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
