DUNEDIN PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.

The Dunedin Philharmonic Social v will give it* first, concert this season in TJis Majesty s Theatre on Tuesday next, when a very interesting programme will be presented including “March of the Gnomes.'’ by Spuarise, overture “Cleopatra,” by Mancinelli. The popular “Vabe Tristo, ’ by Sibelius, is also being repeated at this concert, and was very favourably received when last, performed. The first part, of the programme will conclude with ‘The March of the Boyards,” by llalvorsen. The second part, will open with (he "Eifth Symphony in B Flat Major.’’ by Glazownow. There will be two Elgino Melodies, by Grieg, for strings only, and the programme will conclude with two Indian dances by Skilton. The singers for this concert will be Miss Kathleen Gray, who will sing ‘'Berceuse,” by Godard, Miss G. Williams playing the violin obligato to this number; and in the second pnit of the programme Miss Gray will bo hoard in “Thou Art Like a Lovely blower,” by Schumann, and "Whan a Merry Maiden Glances,” ' by • Moyer-Hel-nuiud. The other singer, Mr W. Mitchell, will bo hoard in the “T oreador Song, ’ from ‘■Carmen,” and the "Windmill,” by No!eon. A limited number of 2s 6d tickets will bo on sale at.
