At Liverpool the match with Bolton Wanderers, at which there wore 15,000 spectators, was played under remarkable conditions. During the second half a stand on which IGOO people were sitting caught fire, which gained rapidly. Prompt action by the officials and the police prevented a panic, the people being carefully shepherded off the burning structure. Tho smoko drove thousands of people from the other stands and seriously affected some of tho players. Tho brigade fought the fire from the touch-line, while the game proceeded uninterruptedly.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
