THE FINANCIAL ASPECT. QUESTION OF ABANDONMENT. Preaa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, February 27. In the House of Commons Mr C. W. Darbishire (Liberal, Westbury) inquired whether Sir W. Joynson-Hicki would consider the abandonment of the British Empiro Exhibition with a view to limiting the guarantors' probable losses Sir W. Joynson-Hieks replied in the negative. He said ho saw no reason to anticipate ultimate loss, while abandonment would inevitably involve immediate heavy losses.—A. and N.Z., Cable. FREIGHT CONCESSIONS. LONDON, February 27. ' The shipping companies have agreed to. grant a concession of 50 tier cent, on both outward and homeward on all exhibits sent to the British Empire Exhibition if they are not intended for sale.—A. and N.Z.
