At tho monthly meeting of (he Otago Motor Club hist, night Mr F. Carter, who is in charge of the arrangements for tho club’s annual outing for the orphans, said that about 400 children would bo taken out, to Wingnlui on Bat unlay next , and that about 100 motor cars would bo required. Ho urged members to offer their ears and thus give the children the pleasure of a day’s outing. Christmas was first celebrated as a religious festival about a.d. 190.
