HIGH SCHOOLS GOVERNORS
The monthly meeting of the High Schools’ Board of Governors was held yesterday afternoon, and was attended by Professor Thompson (chairman), the Hon. D. T. Fleming Dr Fulton, Messrs J. C. Stephens, J. Mr Galloway, H. Webb, W. 11. Brugh. and the Mavor (Mr J. b. Douglas). Tire Kd u cat ion wrote notifying tho appointment of Dr .hulton and Mr J. M. Callaway as members of the board for the, ensuing vear.— Received. ,\fr David Wyjlie wrote expressing appreciation of the tuition received by bis son , at the Boys’ High School during the lost three years.—-Received. „ The. "Education Department wrote authorising an expenditure of £l5O on rebuilding lavatories at the Boys’ High School. Received. , .. The Kducation Department wrote authorming an expenditure of £ljU out of its endowment income for providing, if imceasary temporary accommodation at the Boys High School.—Referred to the Works Committee. , , . . The chairman reported that the department had given authority for an additional expenditure of £.'171 for work previously approved in connection with the rectory boaul-iim-house, and that the I letchcr Coustiuction Company’s tender !uid accordingly been accepted.—Received. ■ , A vote of thanks was accorded the speakers at the annual breaking-up ceremonies of tlio Bovs’ and Girls’ High Schools and it was decided to congratulate Miss ! V n " t . he success of the function held in Hjs jesty’s Theatre. _ Accounts amounting to £ISO2 ts <cl weie. pass-vd for pavmcnt. The (mammal statement showed that after the payment of these accounts there was a debit balance of £Ghl 13s 5d at the bank.
