Saturday witnessed another successful day for the Brighton Carnival. During the evening a concert was held in the Hislop Hall, and the returns were counted by Messrs Stevenson, Coombs, and Garden and credited to the respective queens. The following are the final results of the queen competition Miss Lorna Begg (Sea View), 48CO votes; Miss Myrtle Russ (Ocean View), 2835 votes; Miss Minnie Aburn (Brighton), 2645 votes. Judging by the applause which followed the declaration of the competition, Miss Bogg’s win was a very popular one. Mr Coombs, the organiser, announced that the coronation would take place next Saturday. At the conclusion of the concert the chairman returned thanks to all those who hau assisted in the enterprise by contributions or by their services.
