THE SECRET OF YOUTH
MONKEY GLAND PROCESS. VORONOFF AND HIS WORK. Wherever one goes in Paris nowadays one hoars the name of Dr Voronofl, the surgeon who, by grafting glands from monkeys, claims to make old men middle-aged and middle-aged men young, writes the Paris correspondent of n London paper. When first it was heard cl this monkey gland grafting process was thought to bo another of those impossible schemes which are from time to time attributed to scientists. Many people imagined Voronoff as n drenmor--an. experimenter who had more faith than reason to his work. He is no dreamer; nor is ho a quack. He seeks no money, but rather spends his own quite lavishly in the belief that ho is doing something for his race. He is a quiet, practical man°who shuns the limelight. One would imagine that Dr Voronoff would be busy for the rest of Ids life operating on an endless stream of eager patients. It is not to bo eo. To begin with, he looks upon Ids discovery for the moment as being an exceptional means to bo used only in exceptional cases. Ho is not prepared to attempt to restore youth to all-comers, it is to bo reserved for the men whom humanity can least afford to lose.
