ROSINA BUCKMAN FAREWELL
Saturday night at (His Majesty’s .theatre Miss Resina Beckman, the worldfamous New Zealand prima donna, and Mr Maurice D Oisly, the cultured operatic tenor, will give the 15ret of their three farewell concerts in Dunedin. At Saturday's ' ' concert Mias Bucknian will sing Santuzza’s ana from “Cavalleria Rusticana,” Muset- ' ta s song from “La Bohemo,” “All Souls’ : Day” (Richard Strauss), ‘The Lass with toe Delicate Air” (Ame), “The Trvst” (Sibelius), “Ecstasy” (Rnmmel), Alfred Hill’s ‘ Waiata Maori,” and “The Cuckoo” (Lehmann). Of special interest to music lovers . will be the first performance in Dunedin °f the great “Garden Scene” duet from the third act of Moussorgsky’s famous Rus- y sian opera, “Boris Goudonov.” Other duets will be the finale of Act I of Puccini’s “La • , ■ Bohonie" and the evergreen “Keys of-: Heaven.” Mr Maurice D’Oisly will sing ,/ the tenor aria from Act V of Gounod’s ‘Romeo and Juliet,” the Dream Song of. c Des Grieux from Massenet’s “Manon,”“Adieu du Matin” (Pessard), and “La ’i< Chanson du Tambourineur” (Weckerlin). : Miss Adelina Leon, who was hailed by the'”'. Sydney Morning Herald as “the foremostr; - ’cellist of her sex to visit Australia,” will contribute a number of solos, and the accompaniments will be in the artistic hand* "■< of Mr Percy Kahn.
