Tho Ngatoro sailed from Dunedin yesterday morning for Napier and Gisborne. She will call fcii route at Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. Tho Owipuki, which arrived hero last night from -Port Craig, anchored in Dio stream. She will discharge portion of her timber cargo here, and will then go to Oamaru to complete unloading. The Wanaka arrived here last night from Auckland, via ports, and will sail to-day for Bluff. She is expected to return on Sunday, and should sail on Monday for Auckland, ■via ports. The Kahika is due here to-day from Wellington, and is expected to sail this evening for New Plymouth and Nelson, via Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. Tho Storm, which arrived here last night from Oamaru, is to sail to-day for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wanganui, and Picton. The Suffolk is to load at Auckland with frozen meat, dairy produce, and general cargo for Now York, Boston, and West Coast ports of the United Kingdom. The Royal Mail steamer Tahiti was scheduled to leave San Francisco on Friday for Wellington and Sydney, via Papeete and Rarotonga. She is due at Wellington on February 3. The Tasmanian four-masted schooner Kermandio completed discharge of her cargo of Australian hardwood at Auckland on Saturday morning. She has left for Greymouth to load a cargo of timber for Australia. Tho A. end A. Line steamer City of Evansville, with cargo for Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton, left Now York on December 13, Philadelphia on the 21st, and Newport News on the 23rd. She should arrive at Wellington about February 2. The Federal steamer Westmoreland completed discharge of the Auckland portion cf beer cargo from Liverpool, Glasgow, and Avonmouth yesterday. She is to come to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin to complete discharge. The Ruahine is to sail from Southampton on February 15 for Auckland, where she will be due on March 25. She will carry cargo for Auckland and Wellington, and passengers for New Zealand. The Ruahine is timed to leave Wellington on April 21 for Southampton and London. THE MAKURA. Tho Canadian mail steamer, in continuance of her voyage from Vancouver, via Honolulu and Suva, arrived at Auckland on Monday morning. She proceeded on her voyage to Sydney tho same day. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. The following vessels were expected to be ■within range of the under-mentioned wireless stations last night: —Auckland; Makura, Tutanekai, Kaiwarra, Kauri, Eona, Boveric, Wairuna. Wellington: Wahine, Maori, Ngaio, Canadian Pioneer, Waihora, Devon, Maungnnui, Kntoa, Moeraki, Port Hunter, Carpentaria, Ruapehu, Port Darwin, Token. Chathams; Arawa, lonic. THE WAIRUNA. Tho steamer Wairuna has arrived at Auckland from San Francisco. She has a cargo of general merchandise and case oil from Vancouver, Ocean Falls, Powell River, and San Francisco. She cleared the last-named port on December 17, and experienced fine weather to Auckland. About 3000 tons, including 13,000 cases of oil, will be discharged at Auckland, and the remainder of the cargo at Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. > THE PHOSPHATE TRADE. Large quantities of phosphates are being shipped from Nauru Isl- 'd for New iW.nnd and Australia. Tho Vdtomo arrived at Lyttelton last week with a cargo, and the Boveric is due at Auckland shortly with about 6600 tons. Tho Dilga_ Bailed from Nauru on December 29 for Newcastle and 1 South Australia, and the Dumosa was at, the island on December 31 to load also for Australia. The Woodfield arrived at Nauru Island on January 10 to load for an Australian port. THE STEAMER RANADI. ■ The Fiji Government steamer Ranadi, which arrived at Auckland on Saturday from Suva and anchored in the stream, is expected to be at Auckland . for about two months undergoing overhaul and survey. Sho is commanded fay Captain Jas. Miullma, and has a crew of 21 all told, consisting mostly of Ellis Islanders. The steamer is under control of the High Commissioner of tho Western Pacific, who is also Governor of Fiji. G-BRMAN MERCANTILE MARINE. The reappearance of a German mercantile marine is taking place much more rapidly than was expected. Particulars furnished by officials of the Norddeutcher-Lloyd show that the country's shipping tonnage now is 1,783,000 gross registered tone. In spite of the freight market German ships have been enabled to find sufficient cargoes. The statement is made that the high internal value of the mark has had the advantage of allowing of a substantial excess of takings over working expenses, which can be devoted to reconstruction. It is asserted that the satisfactory demand for tonnage ia a sign that

The AVaihemo sailed from Sydney on Sunday, December 21, for Honolulu and Vancouver. She is due at Honolulu about Saturday. She will load at Pacific Coast ports for New Zealand and Australian ports early in February. The AVaiotapu left Newcastle on January 7 for Sun Francisco and Vancouver. She is to load during February for New Zealand and Australian ports. From Pacific Coast ports, via San Francisco, tho Wairuna was to leave Auckland yesterday for Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney, to complete discharge. The AVaimarino, from Pacific Const ports, loft San Francisco on Saturday, December 23, for Napier, AVellington, New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Sydney. Sho ia due at Napier about Saturday.
