BOWLING.
DUNEDIN CENTRE, A meeting of the Executive of the Dunedin Bowling Centre was held last night, and was attended by Messrs W. Jacobsen ! (president), ■A. M‘Kenzie, A. Sullivan, W, ■T. Henaghan, I. A. Peters, and W. Miller. The Secretary of the- Southland Centro wrote stating that Saturday, February 10, would bo a suitable date for the interprovincial match Otago v. Southland.—Received. The Secretary of the Christchurch Centre wrote confirming the date suggested (February 22) for the interprovincial match between Otago and Canterbury.—Agreed to. A communication from the Executive of the New Zealand Association stated that an application by the Otago Central Centje for the affiliation of the Ranfurly Club hud been granted, the club to forward its rules and constitution.—Received. The Secretary of the Otago Central Centre wrote asking if the suggested inter-centre tournament during Carnival Week would be hold. South Otago was very keen on such a tournament, but ho had not heard from North Otago.—Tournament to bo held on February 15 and 16. The Secretary of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association wrote stating that the arrangements in connection with the visit of (he New South Wales bowlers liad been altered. The team would leave Sydney by the Ulimaroa on January 20, and was due in Auckland at 1.16 p.m. on February 17, and would leave at 6 p.m. the same day for Dunedin, remaining bore till the morning of the 22ml.—Received. Mr J. Abbott wrote stating that the rinks tournament at Christmas could not bo deemed a success financially owing to the entries being so small. Ho suggested the advisability of calling a meeting of delegates to reconsider the decision to held a doubles tournament at Easter. He thought that if only doubles were held the entries would not bo large enough to make the tournament the financial success that it should be. Easter would be some three weeks earlier this year than it was last year, and there would be a greater chance of getting fine weather. —It was decided to hold a meeting of delegates ‘on February 5 to consider the question of holding a rinks and doubles tournament at Easter. It was decided that the matches against the Now South Wales bowlers be played on the following greens:—Roslyn, (Monday, February 19; Taieri, Tuesday, February 20; Dunedin, Wednesday, February 21. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Entertainment Committee for its services in connection with the visit of the Queensland bowlers, special reference being made to the good work done by Mr M‘Kcnzie. Accounts amounting to. £39 19s XOd were passed for payment. 1
