_ 4tP M. ALEXANDRE EIBOT. Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, January 14. The death is announced of M. Ribot, a former Prime Minister of France.—A. and N.Z. Cable. |M. Alexandre Ribot was born in 1843, and was married in 1877 to Mira Burch, a Chicago lady. He was first elected a member of the Chamber of Deputies in 1873. He lias boon Prime Minister of France four times, but his Ministry in June. 1914, only survived a few days. As Minister of Finance he had an important conference with Mr Lloyd George in February. 1915. He became Prime Minister again in March, 1917. hut resigned in September, after General Nivelle’s defeat. M. Ribot continued in politics as Foreign Secretary in M. Painlevo's Cabinet until it fell.]
