CARNIVAL WEEK ATTRACTION

'Hie public are promised a novel attraction during carnival week in the shape of a carnival at Tahuna Park on February and 10. Programmes will be presented both day and night, and will include a. number of features which have probably never been seen in the city previously. Special arrangements have been marie for lighting the ground by electricity nt night, so that patrons will be catered for tinder the most, favourable conditions. Amongst the attractions will be irotting ostriches in sulkies. trotting goats in miniature sulkies, musical chairs on horses (in this event competitors will bo required to provide their own horses), buck ‘jumpers, bucking bullocks, a bicycle road race from Saddle Hill (the final four miles to be ridden on the track , motor bicycle race, musical chairs in motor cars, a race for draught, horses ridden by registered jockeys in. colours, the bast illuminated motor bicycle and side-car. a dancing exhibition for children, and a hidden treasure in the sand for children. The draught horse race will be won by the competitor carrying a hag of flour the greatest distance. Such' a programme should meet the tastes of a. large number of people, and if the conditions are favourable no doubt the carnival will attract a large share of patronage.
