HAWKE’S BAY CHAMPIONSHIPS. \ (Per United Press Association.) HASTINGS, January 5. The Hawke's Bay tennis championships were continued to-day. Heavy rain fell in the morning, but tho weather cleared in the afternoon. Splendid tennis was witnessed in the semi-finals and the finals, especially in the ladies’ doubles. LADIES’ DOUBLES. Semi-final.—Mrs Scott Watson and Miss Macfarlane beat Mrs Green and Miss Fenwick, B—lo, 6—3, 6—3; -Misses Lance and Lloyd beat Mrs Maitland' and Mias Kennedy, 6—l, b—3. Final.—Misses Lance and Lloyd beat Mrs Scott Watson and Miss Maciarlane, 6—2, 10—8. MEN’S DOUBLES. Final.—Robson and Griffith beat Edmondson and M’Dougall, 6—4, 6—o. LADIES’ SINGLES. Fourth Round. —Mias Knight beat Miss Howe, 2—6, 6—3, 6—2; Miss Lloyd beat Mias Lance by default. Semi-final.—Miss Knight beat Mis Hodge?, 6—4, 6—3. . ; i. ... MIXED DOUBLES. Final.—Smyth and Miss Lance beat Milburn and Miss Clark, 6-11, 6—3. MEN’S SINGLES. Third Round.—Edmondson beat Snodgrass, 6—4, 6—4; Walker beat S. Powdrell, B—6, 6—3. ‘ Fourth Round.—J.
