FROM THE “Invenian viam aut faciam.” MONDAY, JANUARY 5, 1863.

SIXTY YEARS AGO

At the Parish Meeting held in the English Episcopal Church on Friday last, January 2nd, the following were appointed and ■elected Churchwardens and .Vestrymen for the present year;—’Messrs A. Chetham Strode and R 13. Martin, churchwardens. Dr Buchanan, Messrs K. Cantrell. W. Mason, T. J. Moss, and E. Quick vestrymen. Wo have heard a reliable statement that a gentleman recently went from the W akatip to the Dunstnn, taking with him about 300 ounces of gold, which he got in the former district in a little more than a month. The getter of the gold is nearly related to our informant.

Cobb’s coach arrived from the Dunstan in town about forty minutes after twelve o’clock last night, having left the Dunstan the same morning. This is, we believe, the first time the journey from the Dunstan has been performed in one day. We notice that Messrs Cole, Hoyt and Company commence to run from Dunedin to the Dunstan on Tuesday (to-morrow), the coach leaving Dunedin at 4 o’clock a.m.
