The probable explanation of the statement that Canton has decided to recognise the Central Government is contained in a report that the provinces of Yunnan and Kwang-ai have formed an alliance with the Constitutionalists. Kioang Tung , and Sun Yat-sen’s supporters are preparing to attack Canton, under the leadership pf the Yunnanese General Chang Kaishu. It is reported that Wu-chow was occupied by the allied troops on December 28. The Cantonese army, declared a blockade of Wuchow, and the unper west , river troops were recalled from Foochow to suppress Dr Sun Yat-sjn’s movement. — Reuter. [Wuchow is a treaty port in the province of Kwang-si, with a population of 40,000.] •
