(Received Jan. 6, at 10.30 p.m.) At Marion, on the resumption of the Herrin trials, witnesses for the defence testified that the mine guards had often interfered with the villagers and the ra in ere in their peaceful tasks, menacing them with a display of arms, and during the day of the fight they saw guards fire and kill miners without provocation.—A. and N.Z.
