MINING

The Ohinemuri Mines report that the crosscut at 300 ft south is now out 23ft 6in from the hangingwall of the south drive, and the last 6ft 6in has penetrated quartz. The quartz, which is of a hard nature, shows rhodonite .freely, which is a good indication for values being met with. The hangingwall is not yet exposed. The Electrolytic Zinc, Company of Australasia has issued the following statement: The production during the four weeks ended November 16, 1922 was: Zinc 1975 tons, silver lead product for shipment to Port Pino for realisation containing: Lead 214 tons, silver 41,1880 z. For the four weeks endrd December 13, 1922, the production was 2027 tons zinc, 249 tons lead, and 37,7580 z silver.
