BRITISH AND FOREIGN

Prc-aa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, December 12. (Received Dec. 13. at 9.15 p.m.) Mr Neville Chamberlain, questioned in the House of Commons, said that there was no scheduled connection between Australia and New Zealand for Suez mails, though the period of waiting in Sydnev was usually short. He was communicating with the New Zealand Post Office to ascertain if any improvement were practical, either from Sydney or from America. Replying to a question in the House of Commons, Mr W. Ormsby-Gcrc (Undersecretary of State for the Colonies) said that owing to the considerable improvement in the selling price of spelter, there had been no appreciable loss so far through the operations of the Australian zinc concentrates contract.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
