THE BEST WAITRESSES
If you are in a hurry' for your lunch, make straight for a table where a fairhaired waitress is in charge, “Blondes make the best waitresses,” says Mrs H. A. Halverson, in the American National Restaurant News, and she tells how an American restaurant nroprietor ended all his. troubles by substituting- blondes for brunettes at the counter. “ Blondes do best in positions calling for speed and variation, ’ she continues, “and brunettes are best in posts calling- for one repeated l operation. Another test that I employ, and which bas proved to be almost infallible, ia the ‘ thick-skin ’ test. A person with finer skin texture and fine hair is the person who entertains higher thoughts. loves the finer and .more aesthetic things of life, and is in general morally better in every respect. The round type of faoo should be avoided, as they are apt to bo lazy, but a long, narrow face should be sought out, as it denotes an active mind.”
