(Received Nov. 28, at 9.25 p.m.) Taking advantage of the exploding of some French household coal, a Parisian named Thomas tried to frighten his mother-in-law out of his house by putting a bag of gunpowder on the kitchen range. The mother-in-law was so terrified that she ran for the police, at the sight of whom Thomas broke down and confessed bis trick. Ho was arrested for being in unlawful possession of explosives.—-A. and N.Z. Cable.
