ORPHANAGE CARNIVAL

The Orphanage Carnival at His Majesty’s Theatre is now drawing to a close, but the attendances are as large mow as in the first week. Last night the Otago School of Dancing, assisted by the Lyric Quartet, gave another finished display of fancy dancing. The Tip-topical Quartet Party kept the audience in a simmer of merriment with their musical references to local people and topical themes. A feature of the evening was the singing of Mr D. M'Gill, of the Fuller circuit, who rendered several baritone selections in fine style. His efforts really brought down the house, and were much appreciated. Following is the position of the queens: —-Miss Stewart 1, Miss Blaney 2. Miss M‘Donald 3, Miss Dawson 4, Miss Inder 5, Miss Spiers 6.
