JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT. The tennis tournament of C.e Jumor Asfinriniion was continued at the Girla -High School Courts on Wednesday afternoon and again at the Otago Courts on Saturday morning. The younger girls singles event, which is limited to players of 13 yeans and under, was finished, the winner being N. Fleming, of Archerlicld College, and the runner-up L. Lawrence, of Coliunba Colk There is a marked improvement in the play of the young girls this season, and it was quite apparent from Saturday s games that the teachers are devoting much time to their training. The final game of the singles was watched with much interest, and the skill shown first by one player and then by the other in working her opponent out of position to score a winning shot evoked frequent applause. The Senior Handicap Doubles event was played to the semi-final ixnind, the girls who aro to contest the final being G. Manchester and AI. Al'Leod (owo 15 1-6) and D. Horrell and D. Alanchester (owo 15 4-6), both pairs belonging to Columba College. The, St. Hilda players, D. Hart and AI. Herbert (owe 30 2-0), were defeated in the semi-final round by O. Alanchester and M. Al'Leod (owo 15 1-G). The game was a very close one, and, with a difference of one-sixth in the handicap, the might have been reversed. The Handicap Singles was played to tho fifth round, and tho winner has to be found from four Columba players and one Archerfiokl. The best games were between I).
