ORPHANAGE CARNIVAL
The Otago School of Dancing pupils, assisted by ihc Lyric Quartet, were again well received at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening, when they submitted an altogether new programme of fancy dancing for the approval of the large audience present. It is announced that a free matinee will bo held this afternoon, when the orphanage children and the pupils of the Sisters of Mercy will provide an enjoyable entertainment. This evening’s entertainment will be supplied bv the Commercial Travellers, mid the Tip Topical Party. The other portions of the theatre in which the stalls are placed present an animated appearance each afternoon and evening. Goods of all descriptions are on offer, and it is said that many real bargains are to bo obtained. It may also be remarked that the zealous attendants, notwithstanding that the carnival has now reached its eleventh night, are working as hard as ever to secure the desired object. The polling for the queens now stands: —Miss Blaney 1, Miss Stewart ii. Miss M‘Donald 3, Miss Dawson 4, Miss Indcr 5, Miss Spcirs 6.
