duNbdin hide sales. Messrs Waters, liilchio, and Co. report as follows : —We hold our usual fortnightly sale of hides at our stores, Crawford street, on Friday morning. Thera was a good attendance of buyers present, bnt, owing to the shipping trouble, shippers were acting with caution, and competition was not so keen aa the previous sale, except for the better class of hides, which were keenly competed for by tanners and brought late rates. Other descriptions were slightly easier. The total number of hides offered in Dunedin this week was 2180, and of this number we submitted 2036.
