"WAIT AND DON’T SEE."

LORD GLADSTONE'S ATTACK. LONDON, October 5. Accusing Mr Llovd George of interfering in foreign affairs and overruling the Foreign Office from his garden in Downing street, Lord Gladstone, a former Liberal Cabinet Minister, in a- speech at Manchester, asked: "What good wouid dominion troops have been, as thev could not be got to Chanak for months?''' Though the danger was immediate, it was not because of the apueal to the dominions that Mustapha Kemal was showing a reasonable spirit. The appeal isolated England, and the Turks knew it. ■ Mr Lloyd George had earned the description of "Mister Wait and Don't See."
