MYSTERIOUS NICOLA
WOULD"S GREATEST MAGICIAN. It is the hardest tiling in the world lo impress on an incredulous audience a sense of its own limitations. A conjuror is doomed before he begins. Every trick, every illusion is suspected. Nicola, the wonderful entertainer, first aniuses. then impresses, then nonplusses his audience. Ho has his own "unordinary" way of dointr the most ordinary things in respect, to illusions. His cleverness, drollery, and the rapidity with which he performs his feats pains him great admiration as an exponent of mystical entertainment, and the nonchalance with which he accomplishes the most astounding illusions is most effective in securing a spectacular result. Nicola all the world over is said to stand 'alone in the sphere of magic, and is credited with being the world's master magician, illusionist, and transformist. He has sought and obtained comparison with all other magicians, tracked to their homes all competitors and proved his merit, dignity, and size in every country of the globe. He has crossed and recrossed the oceans, each lime winning l new laurels. Time after time he has smothered all competitors, and compelled by conquest the' admiration and plaudits of the great centres of Europe, Asia. America, and Australia. There is no place on earth where his title is disputed, no place where ho is not known as the monarch supreme of all magicians- He is not only world-conquering but world-covering, for his triumphs reach the four corners o£ the earth. Words aw said to utterly fail to give even a hint of the opulence and all-encompassing grandeur offered, and it is so lavish as to appear exaggerated to those who have not had the extreme pleasure of witnessing his marvellous: performances. It is considered by far the biggest, grandest, most _ spectacular magical production extant. Nicola is. certain of a great, welcome here, for he comes in the hey-dav of his fame, supported by his own full company of expert illusionists and entertainers, who* have all been brought out to this country from New York by J. C. Williamson (Ltd.). # It is bv far the most expensive undertaking in the enter-! t'linrnenl line ever knoWn in Australasia, and is considered worthy of the utmost support from all quarters. His season here is ,i brief one, and Nicola is expected to shatter all urevious records. Patrons are earnestly advised to make early reservation for seats, as capacity business is obviously to rei"ii throughout his season. The box plans "are at the Bristol., The Dunedin season commences on Monday evening next at His Majesty's.
