ORPHANS’ CLUB

Ihe monthly meeting of the Orphans’ Club last night, which was the final night of the season, was well attended, and an excellent, programme was submitted. A considerable portion of time was taken up in making out a return of the sales of tickets for a concert to bo given by the club next month in aid of the Children’s Kest Home. The president, Bro, 0. W. M’lntosh, had the pleasure of announcing that the response had been most liberal and the affair was progressing well. ’ The contributions to (he evening's entertainment included songs by Bros. Atmore, Angell. Bachop, Cookson, Williams Watson, and Mearns, items by the Orphans’ Quartet, recitations by Bros. 'O'Connell and White, stories by Canon Nevill, a flute solo by Bro. Stewart, and a horn solo by Bro. Whelan, in' addition to all which there were, of coursj, orchestral numbers, always the feature of the club fhcetings.
