Dixon (Invercargill), claim 12s, on account rendered (costs 8s); Keith Ramsay v. F. S. Edwards (Kaitangata), costs ss; Laidlaw and Gray v. Michael Mackay, claim £6 9s, on account stated (costs £1 11s fid); Otago Farmers’ Co-operative Association v. Richard Mahoney (Washdyke), claim £1 ss, for advertising (costs 11s); Elizabeth Hayward Perry v. Aland O’Connell, claim £l2, for rent, possession, having been given (costs £2 15s)'; Charles H. Tucker and .Co. v. James Campbell (Wnipahi), claim £62 -4s 2d, for groceries (costs £4 19s 6d)i Judgment Summonses. —Fred- Sladen and Son (Christchurch) -v. Ernest G. Nurse, claim £39 15s fid. for jewel cases.—Mr Hay for plaintiff.—There . was another case against defendant, on a judgment, summons for £2 13s 4d, by the Commercial Trading Co., which was represented by Air Alloo.— It transpired that defendant spent his_ life wandering about the country _ repairing jewel cases. He owed money in Christchurch, and had been obliged to leave tho Excelsior Hotel and the Majestic Mansions in Dunedin, being in debt for his lodging. In Christchurch he had passed as the Jewel Case Fitting Company. He declared that he had been in business for 15 years, and had money owing to him, but could not mention any specific case. He also declined to say to whom he sold two diamond rings, for which he had stated that.ha received £1 15s.—Defendant was sentenced to ope month’s imprisonment on the first claim, and .48 hours on the .second, the warrants to be suspended for one month and seven days respectively.
