On Saturday last the annual Rugby match between the residents and week-enders of 3S T orth-East Harbour was played at Company's Bay before a la*go gathering of supporters of both teams. Last year Mr H. \V. Gamble presented a shield to the district for competition between the residents nrici week-enders, and the form of competition "chosen was Rugby. The game ended in a draw, and honors rested evenly between both seotions after the first competition. This year the Rugby game again ended in a draw—three all. L. Gardiner, for. the residents, kicked a penalty goal, and Stan Butler kicked a goal from a mark for the week-enders. The game was ono oi four spells °f 20 minutes each, and was a very hard and evenly-contested one from start, to finish. Mr J. Vivian and Mr S. Brown made efficient umpires. The day's enjoyment was concluded with a smoke concert in the boating shed (kindly lent for this purpose). Mr G. Bewley occupied the chair, and was supported by Messrs Churchill and Butler (rival captains), G. Kennelly and Ohas. Hook (manager), and V G. Cavaragh, who made (as last year) aii ,ideal referee. A large toast list was honoured, and an event which is looked forward to for some months ahead was con--Juded in the best of is>i«h>
