GIRL SWALLOWS THERMOMETER. INSTRUMENT RECOVERED UNHARMED. Press Association —By Telegraph—'Copyright LONDON, October 1. The Lancet states that a girl of 21, at Vienna, swallowed a clinical thermometer. After she had been X-rayed, an operation enabled the removal of the thermometer unharmed. It registered 107 deg. Fahrenheit. The adds that this is a record temperature.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
