WORKERS’ EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION.
On Thursday evoniny last the Xorth-Fast Valley W.F.A, (.'hiss brought a successful season to a close. The chairman (Mr Tumor) oponc.-l the proceedings by inviting members to discuss the ([uestion. of wliali subject would lie most suitable for next year’s course of studios, Mr llarlce-k suggested that the class might, ask for a course of lectures on “Literary CriUoism.'’ Mr Ferguson thought tihe most, immediately interesting subject for study would bp a course on “'fhe Habits and Customs of Peoples.'’ Several other members thought it. would 1/0 bettor for the class to continue (ho study of psychology which bad proved such a valuable and interesting study during the past winter. ,It was finally decided to call a meeting in February whoa definite arrangements could ho made. The rest of the evening was then devoted to entertainment, the first, item on the programme being a song by Mr Johnson. Mr Ilarloek save' several ' elocutionary items from T)ieken.s. Mr Tumor alo rendered some highly amusing impersonations of life in London. Fongs "ere given by Miss Taring. Mrs Ferguson, and Mr Young. The chairman then took the opportunity^of presenting Mr Johnson, the tutor, with a small token from the members of the class, in appreciation of the kindly and patient, maimer in which he had led the class during the session, Mr Harlock also made a few’remarks mi the benefit to be derived from a. course of study such as the W.L.A, Class jii'-f. concluded. Air Johnson thanked those present for their kindness to him. Community singing was indulged in, after which votes of I,hanks were passed to all who had contributed to the success of the evening. 'I he singing of ‘‘Auld Lang Hyne" brought the evening's entertainment to a close.
