MINISTER MAKES A PROMISE. (From Odr Own Correspondent.) ; '■ The Minister of Public. Wofhs; was iuter.vieiv’ed to-day by, a deputation introduced by Mr H, E. Holland. It was attended by Canterbury 'and West Coast members and representatives of the Buller, Canterbury, and Wellington Central Progress Leagues. They asked that-a sum be placed on the Public Works Estimates this session to complete at least the section of [the railway from Westport to Inting-ahua, Junction and to build a railway and’ traffic bridge 1 over the river. Mr Coates informed the deputation that it was intended to include in the Estimates a sum for the Midland railway, and he vyould recommend Cabinet to apply a portion of this money to, construct a budge over, the Jpangahua River. .... , 1 : 1
