THE MASTERTON SEAT. (From Oiib Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, September 10. The Prime Minister has made the following announcement: “In order to remove any misunderstanding which may exist I desire to announce that Mr G. R. Sykes, M.P., will be the official Reform candidate for the Masterton seat at the General Election. I hope that all friends of the Reform Party in the electorate and those who recognise tho necessity of stable government in a crisis such as that, through which the dominion is passing at tho present time will support Mr Sykes, and by putting aside all local and sectional differences avoid vote splitting.” LIBERAL-LABOUR CANDIDATES. (Per United Association.) WELLINGTON. September 10. The following Liberal-Labour candidates for the General Election are announced: Mataura, D. M'Dougall (Mayor of Gore); Awarua, -Mr P. de La Perrelle (chairman of tho Southland Education Board, and a prominent resident of Winton). Mr O. H, Burnett will be a candidate for the Rangitikei seat ns a Progressive Independent, in the interest of less waste and more efficiency.
