PRESENTATION TO NEW GRAND SECRETARY. At a representative gathering of the I. 0.0. b. in the Oddfellows’ Hall. Roslyn, on Saturday evening a complimentary social was tendered to the now Grand Secretary, Bro. F. Wilkinson, by Linden Lodge. Bro. h. D. Ritchie, Grand Treasurer, presided, being supported by Past Grand Secretary Bro Wm, Reid, P.G.M. Bro. D. M. Miller, Grand Trustees Bro. L. Komnitz, Bro. J. M‘Peak, and D.D.G.M. Bro. J. Skinner. Apologies from Bro. C. J Talbot, the Grand Master, and others wore received. The Chairman said they had met together in such large numbers to pay a tribute to the magnificent services given to his lodge by the guest of the evening, and to express to him their pleasure at his elevation to the high honour of Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand.—(Applause.) They were delighted to have with them Bro. Wm. Reid, now Consulting Grand Secretary to the order — (applause)—who was desirous of showing his appreciation and delight at the selection of his colleague (Bro. Wilkinson) as his successor in office. Bro. Ritchie then outlined the services Bro. Wilkinson had so whole-heartedly rendered during the eight years he had been associated in various capacities with Linden Lodge, and asked him to accept a framed enlargement of the winning team he had instructed •i the ritual competition for the _ District Cup. After a further presentation had been made by Bro. Pattison to Mrs Wilkinson, and Bros. Reid. Miller. Smith, Kemnitz, MTeak, and Skinner had spoken briefly in support, Bro. Wilkinson replied in appropriate terms, and proffered the grateful thanks of himself and of his wife for all the kindness shown. During the evening nn enjoyable concert programme was given by a party of sisters and brothcra, sapper was served, and festivities kept going to a late hour.
