UNIVERSITY MUSICAL SOCIETY

Tire University Musical Society will give its animal concert in Allen Hall on Thursday and Saturday of next week; The first part of the programme, in addition to unaccompanied part-songs by Elgar and Coleridge Taylor, includes some English, Dutch, and Italian folk-songs which have not previously been heard in Dunedin. Tho work to be performed by choir and orchestra is Stemdalc Bennett’s “May Queen”; and the societv has been fortunate in tenuring as its principals Miss Meda Paine, Mrs Wilfred Andrews, Mr G. C. Scott, and Mr Robinson E. Hall. Members of the University staff and council have been given preferential booking, and the box plan for each night will open at Bcgg’s on Monday.
