ZENANA MISSION
SALE OP WOKE. The funds of the Zenana Bible and Medical Mission Should Oonefit considerably as a result of the sale of work hold in the Y.M.CJL yesterday. The stallholders were busily engaged during both afternoon and evening in supplying the wants of purchasers, and .right from the * opening speech of Bishop Richards it was obvious that the sale was to be successful. The stalls, etc., were filled with a plenteous supply of useful and valuable gotxla, all of which sold rapidly. The following is a list of the stalls and those in charge of them: Needlework Stall. —Mrs Morton and Miss Pearl Wilkinson. Sweet Stall.—Girls from the Otago High School.
Handkerchief Tree. —Mrs Laylor and Miss Hilda Tyrell. Tea Rooms.—Mrs Alexander and Miss Shepherd. Produce Stall.—Mesdames Wilkinson and Barr.
The programme presented in the evening was varied and interesting, and the audience's appreciation of it was proved by the applause accorded each item. The “King’s Crusaders" (St. Martin’s, Church girls), dressed in . Indian costume, occupied the larger portion of the time allotted to the programme in their presentation of a dialogue entitled “Indian Sisters." This item was creditably performed, the Indian dress adding to its attractiveness. A duet by girls from the Hanover Street Baptist Church Choir was another successful item, and a recitation by Miss Hilda Tyrell (St. Martin’s Church) was equally good. The accompaniments were played by Misses Dorothy Boyd and Ngaere Penrose.
