INCITING TO VIOLENCE

NAPIER PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE CHARGED. (P*m tJRrm Press Association • WELLINGTON, July 7. Alexander Galbraith, who has been selected to contest the Napier seat at the General Election, appeared before Mr F. K. Hunt. S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court this morning to answer a charge that on June 4 he did incite to violence in an address on the "Downfall of Capitalism” at the Communist Hall. Mr J. F. B. Stevenson, for the accused, applied for an adjournment in order to collect witnesses and study the speech. He said the' case mipht have very serious consequences, as the defendant had been selected to stand for the Napier seat, and it was necessary that ho should have a fair and just trial. The Crown did not oppose an adjournment, which was made until Monday afternoon.
