HOCKEY.
FIRST GRADE. In spite of adverse weather the match, between Technical Old Boys and University B provided a fast game. Old Boys attacked from the bully off, bat the defence of the Blue backs kept them out. From the scramble in front of the goal,the ball came out to Harris, who goaled with a shot from the edge of the circle. "A few minutes late Johnston got through. University then attacked, but without success. The University left wing put in -a fine run down the line,_ and beat all opposition, but his shot just missed. _Up and down plav followed, apd the Old Boys forwards took advantage of their opportunities, and obtained three more goals; before half time. The second half .was a repetition of the first. Old Boys 'lncreasing their score to nine. University tried hard to score, but the defence was sound, and nothing resulted. A feature of tho match was the excellent shooting by JohnEton, who secured five. All these were too good for the goalie, who put in some, good work, and saved on many occasions. Munro was tho outstanding back on the field, and played very well. The Old Boys’ halves also played well, keeping tho ball well supplied to their forwards. For University- Heatherington played a good game as full back. Mr Leonard was referee. (P*m United Psms Association.) WELLINGTON, June 25!
