It reached its height at Portage La Prairie, where the roofs of the hotels and elevators were blown off. The damage to the wheat fields is most extensive. A standing freight car was driven. at high speed by the wind along the track. It collided with a moving train, demolishing the locomotive.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
