Undefended Cases.—Judgment was given by default in tie following casco:—Join H. F. Hamel v. A. M'Lennan, claim £1 9a 6d, on. an account stated (costa 13s): City Drapery Store v, George Milton Parker, claim 16s, balance due for drapery supplied (costs 8s); D.1.C., Ltd. v. David T. Muir (Waikouro), claim £l6 18s 9d, for drapery . supplied (costs £2 IGs); J. liiud&ay and Co. F> v. Michael Fitzgerald, claim £1 6s 6d, for oats and produce delivered (costs 8s); Mackerras and Hazlett, Ltd., v. John Stephen Collins (Queenstown), claim £IOO 9a 6d, for amount of dishonoured cheque and interest (costs £6). Judgment Summons.—Edward James Costello (Waimate) sought to recover £4O 9s 4d on a judgment summons from Alexander Victor Grindley.—Mr W. L.‘ Moore appeared for plaintiff, and Mr B, S. Irwin for de fendant.—This case had been adjourned for a statement to be procured from a collecting agency in Timaru with regard to amounts owing to defendant on account of a, business ! he had had in Waimate, and from which he I had come out a loser. —Defendant said he was now earning £5 a week, was paying £3 a week rent, ana had to keep a wife and two children. After perusing the statement of the agency, the Magistrate declined to make an order.
