(Received May 23, at 10.50 p.m.) The colliery steamers Meeinderry and Wallsend collided in the early hours of this morning off Red Head, near Newcastle. The Meeinderry (217 tons) was badly damaged, and put back to port in a sinking condition, and with her boiler room flooded. The captain managed to beach her. The Wallsend was not affected. There were no casualties. [The Meeinderry is a vessel of 217 tons, built in 1883, and owned by Mr J. M. Smith, of Sydney. The Wallsend is of 518 tons, and belongs to the Howard Smith Lined
