TAIERI PIPE BAND

A concert in aid of the Taieri Pipe Band was held in North Taieri Hall on Friday evening. There was a good attendance, and the programme pleased so well that every item was encored. The band opened the programme with a selection of Scotch airs. ; Mr M'Phee sang “Macgrogors’ Gathering.” Miss Violet Paterson danced a scauntreuss. A nicely played violin 'solo was contributed by Miss M'Kenzie. Miss Gall danced an, Irish jig, Mr M'DougnlPcontributed a solo, and Eric Gordon'danced the Highland fling. Miss Denford favoured - with a vocal solo. The" accompaniments were played by Miss Smellie. A dance followed the concert, the music being provided by Mr and Mrs L. M'Lean. The ladies of the district entertained the performers at supper. A similar concert will in all probability be held at Hiccarton, and, later on, at Mosgiel.
