OTAGO ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY

The monthly meeting of the council of, the* Otago Acclimatisation Society, held last evening, was attended by the president (Mr G. W. M'lntosh), Messrs Conn. The Game Committee reported the receipt of a letter from the Under-Sescretary, Department of Internal Affairs, enclosing notice re shooting season, and advising that paradise duck, pukeko, and native pigeon were absolutely protected. Also a letter saying that licenses had been forwarded to the Chief Postmaster, Dunedin. The Department of Internal Affairs had written stating that the regulations regarding the open season for opossums had not yet been issued The Superintendent of Police, Dunedin, had advised that he had instructed all police officers to see that the shooting regulations weie enforced.)
