A meeting of the Rugby Union Executive was held this afternoon, Mr G. Slade (chairman) presiding. It was decided that affiliated unions should be officially notified that the new rules would take- effect immediately. Ten reinstatements in Auckland and eight in Napier were approved. ' The representations of racehorse owners in the South Island have had the effect of securing uniformity of charges for the carriage of racehorses on the railways in the North and South Islands. In the South, between Christchurch and Dunedin, the rates hitherto have compared unfavourably with those prevailing in the North, under similar circumstances. AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
