(Put United Pbhss Association.) WELLINGTON, April 27. _ ' While the Wellington Rugby Union's Management Committee was meeting last ’■flight'fire Jjroke out in the building in Woodward street. The flames were quickly suppressed. This is the second fire in the same building within a few days. Another fire was discovered a little later in a class- , -room at the Welseley Boys’ College on the Terrace, not far from Woodward street. -►This also w*s suppressed before serious i damage was done. The police regard the outbreaks with suspicion, .believing that the origin was in'eeiKMary, and that possibly one individual , was responsblo for all. ( A BIG BLAZE. FOUR SHOPS DESTROYED. WELLINGTON, April 27. The biggest fire in 12 years occurred at Shanhdfi (Wellington) early this morning, resuiting in the destruction of-four shops— tobacconist shop and billiard room, I Mrs Coakley’s tea rooms. Watterston’s - plumbing premises, and Thwaite’s chemist. The -promises. of the Shannon Meat Company) were 4aved with great difficulty. The fire raged for three hours.
