LONDON MARKETS. LONDON, April 26. Waihi Junction shares; Buyers 5s 9d, sellers 6s 3d. At the tallow sales 1801. casks were offered and 708 sold. Prices were unchanged. Boss-Walker (Ltd.), of Hobart, report concerning the sale of 1775 oases of Tasmanian apples, ex s.s. Moreton Bay, tho first shipment of apples to reach England from tho commonwealth this season, that the best grades sold as follows: —Cleopatras and Cox’a Orange Pippin, up to 20s a case; Sibstone Pippins, up to 17s; Alfristons, up to 16a. TALLOW MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Ltd) report having received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, April 26: ’ 1800 casks of tallow offered, 640 casks of tallow sold; prices nominally unaltered.” AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. The directors of the National Insurance Company of New Zealand have declared an interim dividend of Is 8d per share for the half-year ended March 31, which will be payable on May 16. UNITED STARR-BOWKETT BUILDING SOCIETY , • A meeting of members of the United StarrBowkett Building Society," presided over by Mr E. A. Roseveor (chairman of directors), was held at Hugh Mitchell and Co.’s office last evening to dispose of £2OOO by ballot and sale. The seventy-seventh appropriation by sale in No. 8 group resulted as follows: £2OO at £46 and £3OO at £36 per £IOO. A ballot was then taken for the eighteenth appropriation in No. 6 group, which resulted os follows; Cluster No. 372 being drawn, which was held by two members. The nineteenth appropriation by sale in No. 5 group resulted as follows: £IOO at £53 per £IOO and £4OO at £4l per £IOO. A ballot was then held for the third appropriation in No. 6 group, which resulted as follows: Cluster No. 230 being drawn, held by one member. Mr Rosevear intimated that 62 shares had been app’ied for in new No. 6 group since last meeting, making a total of 1400 shares to date. Ho thought it was very satisfactory to note the number in No. 6 group who were members in the earlier groups, a fact which speaks for itself. He also stated that the No 1 group is paying a further dividend of £5 per share on May 1, making a total of £ls per share paid to members, after providing every membpr with a loan.
