OBITUARY.
REV. ANDREW GRAY. The Rev. Andrew Gray passed away at .the Ravensbourne Manse on Sunday morning after a long and trying illness. He was born at Glasgow in 1865, and studied at Dennistoun Academy and at Glasgow University and Theological Hall. He was ordained at Knox Church, Lower Hutt; in 1895, and continued in this his first charge till 1899, when he accepted a call to Gore. After ministering there with much accept: ance for some 13 years he was called to Ravensbourne and inducted in May, 1912. The late Mr iGray was a man held in very high esteem by his people and by his brethren in the ministry, and it was recognised that ho possessed unusual 'gifts for pastoral work. He*had a charming personality that made him much beloved, and there was a eftong, cheerful _ manliness about him that specially fitted him for his work as a military chaplain. To this work he devoted a groat deal of time and energy during the war, and for long before that ho had exercised if powerful influence for good in. many a training camp. He had medals for 12 and 16 years’ service, and Territorial decorations for 20 years’ service. He volunteered for active service iti the late war,, and though he was never able to go ho rose to be senior Presbyterian chaplain for New Zealand, with the rank of lieutenant-colonel. The late Mr Gray is survived by his widow and three daughters. The funeral is to take place on Wed nesclay, and a special memorial service will be held in the Ravensbourne Church at a quarter to .2 that afternoon. 1
