DRAUGHTS TOURNAMENT

' CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY. •The handicap tournament of the New Zealand Draughts Association was completed, at the Y.M.C.A. Hall on Thursday evening, leaving Messrs Boreham, Brown, Lucas, and Rea in the championship. The championship is conducted .on the two-life system; - In the first, round on Friday, Boroham met Rea and Lucas mot Brown, and Lucas and Boreham were the winners. In .the second, round Lucas beat Boreham with two wins, and a .draw. Tn the same round Brown and Rea proved 1 to b© extraordinarily evenly matched, and so far, after four sittings (eight games), their scores, are even — one win each, and six draws. Their games are to bo continued to-day. The _ present position is that Lucas has still two lives and the other .three one each.
