WAIKOUAITI BOROUGH COUNCIL
The monthly meeting- of the Wa&buaitd Borough Council was hold on Monday evening; present—the Mayor (Mr G. J. L Kerr), Crs ollcock, Dari?, Smith Haitettv Thompson. Tlio Mayor and Or Allcock were appointed to represent tho council at a conference in Dunedin on April 7. to which th® Otago Expansion League invited delegates. The Chief Inspector of Explosives wrote advising that the dangerous goods by-law would be made applicable to the borongfe,. by Order-in-Council under the Act. The Napier Borough Council forwarded - • resolution demanding legislations to provide - for credit balances of local authorities on loan accounts being set off by the Uh against debit balances on other accounts as ' regarded the payment of interest.—The resolution was approved. The Mayor said that it was very satie-;. factory to report that the year’s rates' bedbeen all paid—a fact which reflects credit <S#< V the secretary (Mr B. Pell). -cd
